This project explores how an AI-native education brand could redesign General Education while preserving the credibility of universities. We developed ChatGE, a transferable AI-powered learning platform that lets students complete GE requirements through personalized, curiosity-driven pathways. Positioned as infrastructure rather than disruption, ChatGE reframes foundational education as exploration instead of obligation.

We analyzed the current General Education ecosystem through stakeholder mapping, personas, and systemic research into student and faculty experiences.
Using brand and marketing strategy frameworks

General Education was designed to broaden intellectual horizons, yet it currently operates as an administrative requirement optimized for efficiency rather than curiosity.

General Education was designed to broaden intellectual horizons, yet it currently operates as an administrative requirement optimized for efficiency rather than curiosity.

Through research and reflection on our own experiences in higher education, we identified a systemic tension in the way General Education currently functions. Students often treat GE requirements as administrative hurdles rather than intellectual opportunities. They frequently choose courses based on scheduling convenience, GPA optimization, or professor reputation metrics rather than genuine interest. At the same time, professors experience professional fatigue from repeatedly teaching large introductory survey courses that simplify complex disciplines into surface-level overviews.

Instead of replacing universities, we could redesign the foundational layer of education itself.

ChatGE is a transferable AI-powered General Education platform that allows students to complete accredited GE requirements through personalized learning pathways.

ChatGE sits at the intersection of:

Instead of selecting classes based on convenience or GPA optimization, students explore subjects aligned with their interests while still satisfying graduation requirements. Credits earned through ChatGE can be transferred to partner universities, creating a bridge between flexible digital learning and formal academic recognition.

Many students, parents, and universities will question whether AI-powered education is credible. ChatGE must emphasize accreditation, transferable credits, and institutional partnerships to demonstrate academic legitimacy.
